when you but it new, it comes with 5 bits, so instead of paying/keeping for 5 screwdrivers, you just got all 5 in 1.

Right, I have a much cheaper version. I just never could get into finding and swapping out bits. They usually end up lost in my case. The storage in the handle is nice, but I have always prefered a regular driver. I was just wondering what the draw was and if I was missing something.

I have to admit that I opened this thread thinking, "what kind of idiot buys a $60 screwdriver?"

Now I want one too!

If it makes you feel better, I have always loved this screw driver and have owned 5 of these, the word is OWNED!! The people around me seemed to like them sooo much and couldn't stand to pay the money for such a quality tool that they would liberate them from the top of my toolbox. I had to stop buying them for only that fact. In a flat rate world, that screw driver would shave tenths off your time so over the course of years they more than paid for all 5 of themselves.
Thank you Snap on for taking my money but also for making me my money!

I must say that was one of the first items I ever aquired that was Snap on. Its green and came with a green matching mini mag lite. Its the screwdriver I reach the most for. Once the heartburn fades, it will be your favorite goto screwdriver.

I love both of my 60.00 dollar screwdrivers. I carry one around in my bag all of the time. I would not want to be without it. I find uses for it everyday.

I played around with a brand new one, a Williams clone, and I was unimpressed by it.
Am I the only one?

I have one(actually I have 2 as I have a new instinct handle one also) and rarely use it. I love hard handles and would rather just grab the right screwdriver for the job

Ditto
I recommend the case and some more bits, of course the stubby is nice, and the long one really comes in handy, a t handle provides a little extra torque, and......
The $60 is just the beginning

Ideally, yes, you'd use the dedicated screwdriver for the job. Although, I can understand that when you're on the road/away from the tool box/remote location, these are handy to have. I have a Megapro ratcheting screwdriver that I'm very happy with, so there's a place and time for these for sure.

No, Id rather have a regular screwdriver. I tend to loose those little bits and hate when the fall out or don't set right in the driver.

The SO version is out-dated in my opinion. There's better choices out there that are cheaper, have a finer/smoother ratcheting mechanism, and contain the bits in a much more orderly fashion.

I'm no SO-hater...I love the looks and feel of these hard handles, too. :D

Yes but they don't have a hard handle:thumbup:

What do you believe is a better ratcheting screwdriver?

I agree the bits are sometimes a pain but the usefulness of the tool far surpasses the agravation of bits. I would pay large cash for a complete set of ratcheting screwdrivers with fixed blades.

I bought the Snap on bit set box empty. 11.90 and filled it with USA made bits that I bought on GJ. The only snappy bits I sprang for are the phillips bits. If I break one of the non snappy bits and see that I will use the bit often I will replace with a snappy bit. I just could not spend 152.75 on bits. The box COO is USA.

I also use my set as a travel set. I am allways having to remove things from vehicles or working on guns. The vast selection of bits made the choice for me.

do the other companies offer a super stubby driver built into the endcap? totally makes it worth $60 now huh????

jk, but I do have a std length Steelers one, the longer shank one (still want the super long one though) and the stubby/std length soft grip set with interchangeable shanks.. barely use them nowadays tho :(

I have at least 4 or 5 of these. 2 are new. I have 2 of the newer rubberized one and they are nice but I think I like the hard handle better,.

I wonder what an instinct handle would feel like ratcheting/.

Received last night and played with it on the couch for the next 2 hours. $60 still seems high, but I don't have any remorse, since they also sent a Snap On Bottle opener!

I also got two wrench racks. That was a bad idea, now I want 6 more.

Cool on the bottle opener. I am glad to know they do stuff like that for Internet orders
