As is the usual case, I'm looking for something that nobody seems to make (or at least not for a reasonable price).

I'm looking for a stainess steel laundry tub. Ideally it would be exactly like this, EXCEPT, I want the faucet to mount on a horizontal surface instead of the backsplash. I'm looking to use a kitchen/pull-out sprayer for this.

This is what I'm seeing in restaurant supplies and the like:

But this is what I WANT, just in stainless:

Heck it doesn't even need to be a standing sink, just DEEP stainless tub that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Might want to have one bent up for you probably cheaper.
If you have a used commercial appliance center(stoves cabinets etc) they might have what you want also.

they are extermely expensive for what they are. usually starting around 5-600 bucks and heading norht, fast.

your best bet is have one made, or keep looking on cl daily and see if you can find a used one.

I bought an old SS Sink from my work that had been laying around. It's wall mount but no faucet assembly. I work in Food Manufacturing. Cost me 15 bucks. I basically stole it.

Most all of the SS Sinks out there are for professional kitchens. You will also find that all of these Institutional Sinks have back-splash mounted facets for ease of cleaning.

There are faucets that are about $50-$60. Check out a local Restaraunt Supply house or on ebay.

I found what is called a "Prep Sink" or a Preparation Sink and there are standards driven by the various health departments. The one I am going for has an 18" x 18" x 18" SS Tub and a 18" x 18" apron to one side.

A Mop Sinks and Prep Sinks come in single compartment without a side board that measure 15 x 15 ($240)Free shipping, or 18 x 18 ($252) Free shipping, or 24 x 24 ($290) plus shipping. In my case the shipping was $121.

Home depot is the only (big box) store that I have found to carry anything other then the plastic **** laundry sinks.

They do not have the legs and will need some sort of cabinet. But it meets your other criteria they were priced up here around $300. Other then that I think you are looking at the used/expensive option.

Here is one up here:

Try craigslist..restaurant supplies..Last time I looked there was a good selection of SS sinks..I found a double bowl SS for the garage at Renovation Station which is a Habitate for Humanity store. Check your local yellow pages..you may get lucky..

The flea market I occasionally go to on Wednesdays had a seller with a three basin restaurant sink for $150. I saw it on his trailer ever time I went over a period of a couple of months. I kept thinking that someone NEEDED that sink.

I just went through this exercise. They are out there but $500 seems to be the starting point for a new one. I wanted the exact same sink in stainless and finally just bought the composite one for $59.00. At that price I planned to replace it when I could find a used stainless one at a reasonable price.

Be aware that there are different grades of stainless.
Test with a magnet to be sure you're getting the good stuff which does not react to the magnet.
The cheaper, magnetic, stainless rusts pretty quickly.
Try that test on your gas grill.

Too bad you are at the other end of the continent.A local salvage yard has an entire stainless set up from some kind of food processing outfit,a hundred feet or so of various countertops, sink units and tables. Not cheap but I'm sure its a fraction of the cost new...

Definitely check out Craigslist... I grabbed this for $125 a few months ago:

Wall-mount faucet, but I don't believe I have seen a counter mount like you describe.

Thanks Keep, I'll have to go look at that one, it's certainly a contender, and the price is right too.

Thanks Porschedude, that place is actually local to me, I may stop by and see if I can find something that works.

Glad to know I'm not alone on this one. I wouldn't mind spending the $500 if I could find the exact one I want, just haven't found it yet. It would seem like there should be a better answer to this, it's certainly nothing NEW.
