Help me find a USA-made nut splitter?

Any USA-made nut splitters besides Snapon?

I have had problems getting straight on COO with places like Sears, that buy from the lowest bidder, so NOS might be USA, but it's Taiwan this week and China next week. I would really like to buy from a company like Lisle or Wright that makes everything in the USA, to support them and to make sure that what comes out of the box doesn't say ``China''.

I went first to Lisle, but it looks as if Lisle and Wright don't make them? Are there any USA-only companies that do? Any companies that reliably make at least their nut splitters here? I really want US made, but since I'm going to buy new, I'd prefer to avoid Snapon. Come to think of it, does Snapon even make theirs here?

Are there any suppliers that reliably list country of origin?

I did find one old thread with some recommendations on nut splitters, but they were mainly European.

Craftsman sells one - package says MADE IN USA, but couldn't find that label on the actual tool, but you can only see three sides of the tool from the way it's packaged. $14.99 or something like that...worth checking out!

I see it in the store everytime I go to Sears in Michigan.

I have the Craftsman version. It doesn't say it on the tool but does say it on the package - that's good enough for me. I do not know if the "new off the truck" are US or not, probably just check your local Sears, I'm sure they will have some US ones.

If you aren't sure and want to order online, go to Sears.com and open up a chat window and give the CSR the item # and ask them to check with product support to see if that item is made here in the US or imported. They are pretty good about it.

Pipsters and Thetreshaun, thanks. I still like Craftsman, so it's good to know that I can find COO for sure when I order. Local store doesn't stock.

Any USA-only companies making these? Any others where I can find out before I buy?

Dont know where you are, but I will sell you mine for 15$. Made in U.S.A. by Geneva ? the printing is kinda wore off . Used once. Cap. is 7/8 maybe - 13/16 for sure. Looks like the sears one ,but the side that pushes has a swivel on it. And the finish is smooth and chrome. Should have LOOKED first. It is a General., Mod. # 175

If they still make them, and in the US: K-D makes (Made) one, # 715.

Does KD have a lifetime warranty? Mine needs a new blade... (But I also have a Snap-On splitter...)

Mrkirkpatrick, that Cripe Distributing link looks great. Unfortunately, once I go to check out, there is no way to log in, and no way to set up an account, and no way to proceed at all. Some sort of problem with their website. Thanks, it would have been a great solution if it had worked out.
