Been looking at this wrench for the past 15yrs or so. Not sure where it came from but likely either my dad or one of my grandpa's. I have never used it or could figure out what it may be for. It's a 1/4 x 15/64 open end wrench that's about 3in long. I'm super tempted to turn it into a Keychain but I can't do that to a Williams superwrench. 20211216_180519.jpg20211216_180533.jpg

I have a little box full of those sub 3/8” wrenches, with different angles, jaw thicknesses, etc. For repairing old appliances, old tools etc, those odd angles can be key for getting into the guts of the wiring, etc., supposedly good for car work too.

The draw bar on my mill is a 1/4 square. It would live permanently in the top drawer of my machine cabinet.

Get some thin wire and make a Christmas tree ornament out of it. I'll post and example of the one on my tree when I get home.EB6E28F1-0D3A-4257-9BB4-83F930B2ECD0.jpeg

Any small ignition type wrenches I get that aren’t in a set end up in this plastic cup.

Maybe superglue some tiny Neodymium magnets to one side and use it as a refrigerator magnet or out in your shop somewhere like a refrigerator magnet?

Hell, I like my own idea so much I might do this with some extra tools!

I have an assortment of pipe plugs. A fair number of them have 1/4" square stubs. The other end? Never seen anything to match.

Had to use a 1/4” Craftsman wrench to loosen the emergency light brackets on the crash bar of a law enforcement package Dodge Durango I once had.

Those ignition wrenches were so freaking indispensable back in the day today you talk about points and condensers, setting dwell today and kids just go blank.... my set is still laid out in my wrench drawer and I look at them and think back to the days of tuning up the LeMans to head to Hollywood on a Friday night just to crank the stereo and blast the cherrybombs..simpler days

I remember Bosch ignitions which had a longevity of ~6K miles ±very little! A tune up was mandatory every 2nd 3K miles oil change. I added an electronic ignition (Delta something?) and the springiness of the points diminished and point bounce limited the life of points to ~30K miles.

IIRC condenser longevity wasn’t anywhere near as predictable so I changed them just to prove that I was properly toilet trained.

I assume these damn kids today do pretty much the same **** with remapping and re programming that we did with dwell meters and timing lights and ears but there is no freaking comparison to doing a quick advance and tweaking a naturally aspirated motor then running a quarter mile with solid American muscle and lighting up the TAs for half a block wouldn’t trade those days for anything

I'm not too sure where the overlap between Bosch ignitions and American muscle lay. We had to grok side draft variable venturi SU (and Zenith) carbs.
