Found this at the scrap yard it's missing 3 casters and the holders for 2 of the casters are missing, the plastic surrounding where the casters mount is disformed. I figured I could fix it by maybe cutting some scrap wood and jamming it inside the worn out holes, then drill a hole around the wood piece and expanding foam it in place so I could attach new casters to the wood.. Just wondering if anybody had any better ideas on how to fix it?

This is why I dont own a plastic creeper, when they break, It takes a lot of effort to fix them..if its even possible. The creepers with steel frames may not be as nice on some models, but they are way easier to maintain.

I stopped using creepers years ago. I found a big piece of cardboard from something like a big screen tv works great. You can slide around easily, you get a couple more inches of room, and the tools don't roll under the creeper.

I agree with Chris, my poor old garage floor is sloped and cracked all to heck so my creeper just gets stuck with a wheel embedded in a crack or it wants to roll out the door - with me on it!

However, I use carpet remnants.....you can get them from the carpet store free or pretty cheaply, the edges are bound and it's more comfortable than cardboard, easier on the knees on the way down and insulative when you're lying on the floor.

If they get too dirty they just go in the trash.

If it was me I would get some metal trap material and form pieces that go under the bottom of it and pop rivit them to the bottom.
Weld a square tube to the end of the strap material to attach 4 oversized casters to
Ann a couple of cross tubes welded to the outer tube to prevent the outer tubes from twisting.

Done

The best part about that cheaper is where it says snap on
The rest is beat

I mostly use the cardboard trick also, particularity for low access. (like under my 4x4 jig with no jack stands under it..). and added bennie is it catches a lot of the grime and inevitable oil drip so cleanup is less.

I also agree that thing probably ain't worth fixing. The cost of 3 casters is probably close to new cost.

If it were an top quality creper low profile dn good construction, the go for it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll keep it in the shed for now and wait till I come across some free casters. I used a lisle jeepers creeper just like this one at my old job and liked it alot better than my wooden creeper at home.

Do you get snow and have kids ? Remove the balance of wheels and use it for a sled.
