Help me fix my sander!!!

I have a Wen Oscillating Spindle Sander that I bought about 2 yrs ago. I've only used it a couple of times. I just pulled it out after it had been sitting for a year or so and noticed that it won't stay running very well... it just sputters like it has a short circuit.

Looks like it needs new brushes

Check the brush, check and clean your commutator, clean those grooves on the commutator ? I think that is the average person can do and check without other tools to check the winding for insulation and shorts.

and also this if you have any..... they used to call them condensers in the 50s/60s. now capacitors....

Fixed it!

I took the brush housing out and found that one of the brushes were stuck.
