I have been slowly building my 30'x27' pole building all summer. I am going to be framing my 16'x9' garage door opening tomorrow. The door is on the gable end. The concrete is done so my floor height is already there. I already got quoted for a door and the supplier said that my opening has to be exactly 16x9. I have no clue how to do this. I have a 2"x12" I plan to put across the front 9' off the floor. My two posts are spaced 16' 3" so a 2x up the inside of each post will get me my 16'. Should I run a 2"x6" header across the top inside of my posts and a 2x6 on the back of each post (inside the building). I tried wording everything so it's not so confusing but I'm sure I failed. Any advice would be great. Also maybe some pictures of the inside of you garage door framing would be awesome.

pics of mine attached.

the girt isn't flush with the posts, so the posts are furred out on the outside with 2x8 (8x8" posts). A an outside and inside "header" span the opening on the post faces. The inside of the post is furred out to match that inside header. A post section runs mid-span to tie into the trusses (my end trusses are structural, not gable trusses - I also have a 20ft opening). The headers aren't where I can see them but based on what I can see I'd say 2x8s.

A 2x8 sits flat between the inside/outside "header" (it's not a structural header like if it were carrying load above it...) as a filler between them.

Also took pics of the detail for the trim - deep L covers the "outside" wood of the opening, with the seal brush bolted through that. C channel on top of that with the wall panels tucked into it.

Typical panel type door?
The panels typically are 18 or 24 inches high and you can mix and match them for your height.
The edges meet the trim at the door face and can it can overlap as needed.

If you run the tracks up the wall you can have inside height right inside the door.
