I was gonna say 50's. The aluminum handle gives those away to me.

I'd restore it. But then again, I restore Craftsman boxes like this just because - even if they are a bit too far gone.

Looks like a model 6512 from about 1957 or so to me. Up to you on the restoring - does it have the top tray? The lock ring would be hard to source I'd think.

Well, I have decided to try and restore it. Had the tray sand blasted , but the box wouldn’t fit in the sandblasting box. So I am searching for another sandblasting option that won’t break the bank.
Can the hardware be bought to replace?
If so where?
I used steel wool on on piece. It doesn’t look too bad, but if they could be replaced at a reasonable amount, I would consider it.
I don’t have a spray gun to paint. Not opposed to buying one, but I’m pretty good with rattle can spray paint. What do you guys do?
