help me identify these starrett depth gauge accessories

these were passed down to me from my uncle when he died, he was a machinist his whole life, and he's been gone a while, so i can assume their approximate age, but what are those accessories pieces used for?

Those aren't necessarily depth gages, they look to be plain micrometer heads with a custom base (held on with set screw) that allows them to be directly attached to a fixture/machine/part for measuring something that's probably impossible to guess without seeing it in use.

We used to use a lot of similar setups on our robot stations. If a part was consistently placed off by a couple thousands you could loosen the nest and use the mic to move it a precision measured amount and then tighten the nest down again.. Other setups were done with a permanently mounted dial indicator and a screw to move the nest.

They could be depth gauges. By the pictures posted, I see that they are all different length. I could be wrong, and probably am, but I believe that they were used to check a specifically wide slot, or the depth of a counter bore. Just my HO
