I talked my boss into giving this compressor to me as it has been sitting not being used for 10-15 years. It still works just needs new wheels. There is no name anywhere but this info was found on the tag. Mod # PPH-30-88
Cap 9.3 CFM
Date 1990
Power 3HP
Work P 115 PSI
Man # E11055073
I did google but came up with nothing.
This is my first comp so just wondering if I should change the oil? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Looks identical to my old Puma compressor, just a darker shade of blue. Same type of belt guard,v twin pump and same cfm. I'd guess the motor is 110v?

I don't know the brand, change the oil and filters and run it. Make sure the tank drain is operational.

What brand/weight oil should be used? Looks like the oil drain plug doubles as a sight glass. There is what looks to be a plastic plug on top, it sits flush and looks to have 3 slots cut into it like it would need a key to get in to fill. I'm assuming the 2 round "ears" sticking up should contain foam filter elements, they are empty. I sprayed PB Blaster on the drain as it was frozen. Sorry for the elementary questions, first compressor ever!!

The drain is the small pipe on the bottom/center of the compressor, not thesight glass.

I meant that the sight glass doulbles as an oil drain plug or that it appears that way.

It is a 110V. After looking up some old pics of Pumas I think you are right on the money. Was yours worth a ****? I guess beggers can't be choosey as it was free.

It's not bad, all USA made unlike the newer ones. I still have it and use it when I don't want to fire up my bigger 220 unit. I think the 9cfm is stretching it but i like it for smaller jobs.

Oil drain plug is that hex metal plug in the bottom center of the crankcase, directly below the red and black logo sticker. DO NOT remove the sight glass.

I suspect the black plug on top between the cylinders is the oil fill. What is the orange thing sticking up on the belt guard side of the pump?

Should make a good compressor from running a impact for wheels and stuff like that, blowing off parts, inflating tires, etc.
