I hope this post is not in the wrong place....I bought the belt grinder at a garage sale and hope someone can help identify it. Would love to get an operator's manual, parts book, etc??

Does anyone recognize this beast?? Note that the flanges on one of the arms is broken off and crudely repaired.:(

Thanks

Russ V.

can't help but you got yourself a serious material remover - nice. Looks like a knife grinder on steroids.

I have no idea. Never seen anything like it. It does have a bit of a cobbled up look to it.
My bet is you have pieces from a couple of 6x48 belt sanders put together to make 1 long unit. Looks like it will be able to do the job.

That's a Harbor Freight 6 x 48 belt and 9 inch disk sander that has been modified.

I plugged the beast in and it runs good, belt tracks OK...and all seems to work just fine. Motor is 1/2 HP, plenty strong.

And, I agree that it is a modified Grizzly horizontal belt sander with another sander frame added. The concept seems pretty clever, however the workmanship is CRUDE....I'll be looking at rebuilding some of the mods.

But if it works, $60 garage sale price seems fair. Thanks for the responses.;)
