I don't know the origin of this backhoe ditching bucket.

It is approx 23" long X 6" wide.

Note: it has a cable attachment point on the end so it must be old.

Is it worth anything more than scrap iron?

I have never seen one up close, only from a distance, could this be a bucket from a wheel trencher.. As the large 8 or 10 ft. diameter wheel turns it loads individual buckets. As the buckets continue to rotate, they invert dumping the soil on a conveyor.

Certainly, this appears to be a possibility. I am a little stumped by the cable loop at the end. To me that suggests a lot of age yet it still has paint on it which suggests its not THAT old.

This bucket does not fit the common version of the rotary trencher
