This was found at my work under a pile of trash and the big cheese said to make it go away...so I did. Feels like there are **some** tools inside, but it's locked (and heavy) I am working at this location for about another 5 months so it will be awhile before I am able to start a restoration. In the meantime, maybe someone here can help me ID this find. I am unable to find a model/serial # and will obviously need to get a replacement key. Which begs another question, how difficult will that be?

The key should be easy. The lock should have a number on it

Worst case, take it to a real lock smith. The one around here charges less than 20 bucks to make a key from the code on the lock. They charge about the same to make one by impressioning.

Nice box can’t wait to see what you find. When you shake it what does it sound like. 😉
You should start a pole. Give us a hint on the type of work is done at your employers.

What's the story? How did a box like that end up under a pile of trash? What happened to its owner?
looks like it has been sitting for quite awhile.

Miss the Pontiacs: I work a mechanic for a regional airline.

Fedwrench:: The story is...there is none. People that have been there 8+ years don't ever remember seeing anyone near it. And some more of the same for the other boxes that were on top/front if it. There was a 2007 calendar on the side so it's been sitting awhile.

Looking forward to seeing what you find! Cool deal that the boss said make it go away.

Hold up, I think I see what's happening here. Box with mystery contents, that somebody locked up, threw away the key, and hid under a pile of trash? Box owner mysteriously disappeared? @mds47588, you'd better have the guys from CSI there when you get that thing open.

The model # should be stamped somewhere on the back. Great score. How heavy is it? Keep us posted please.

I'll be a player for anything Snap on date coded "E" in there. (Hey...you never know)

Can’t find the model/serial #’s. How heavy? Heavy enough that I can barely move it by myself short of skidding it along in the floor.

Tomorrow starts my off days. I won’t be back at work until one week from today. It’s sitting in a safe/secure spot. Also, the key I ordered won’t be here for a few days anyway. Hopefully one week from today I’ll be able to get inside. And of course will be keeping this updated.

Careful opening that box. If there is good stuff, the Boss might want to keep it. Maybe find a way to get it to a new "home" before you open it?
