I just received this tool from a friend of mine he is 79 yrs and does not remember what this tool was used for. I have searched the internet over and over and looked at 100's of pictures to no avail. Hope someone can help me. The only helpful information is some numbers 20610.10 and SCF 8. Besides made in the USA, wear eye protection and Patent Pending... Oh and the cups are also numbered 1 - 5 with the exception that the cup that should be numbered 3 has no number at all but it looks original to the set. Not sure if any parts are missing.

I own one it is used to install cv boots on chevy s 10 back in the day. There should be a air hammer adapter that gets mounted in the center hole. The 5 other pieces do not go with the installer.

Rather than start a new thread I figure I'd just post it to this one!

I need help identifying another item... On the top of the brass screw it has the word OHIO inside a diamond shape

Cheers!
Jack

It looks a little like a yoke to connect to an oxygen valve.
yup - the yoke for a medical oxygen tank. Like the 4" diameter, 2 or 3 ft portable cylinders. Ohio was a company name.

I need help once again, I found this socket at a flea market. It's 1/2" drive, sized 13/16", Part Number HS-1226. Has a -------\W/------- marking on it, but the horizontal line is at the very top edge of the outer brackets. It has a copper tint to the metal the way Herbrand tools get, so I am guessing it is manufactured by Herbrand, but for who??? who's mark is on it???

Thanks in advance,
Jacko :bounce:

We've been working across several forums to determine that brand. I have thought for a long time it was Wizard, from Western Auto. Westline brand was also suggested. My guess would be the socket most likely never made it to the chrome tank. Some tools have copper coating underneath.

It's wizard or Walden maybe but I'm sure it came from western auto. The other doorman tool I have not much of an idea. Maybe it's something to install something on some certain car only maybe anyways.

Whatever it is, it's like some kind of semi-locust - it only shows up every 3 years!

I really like Jock’s idea of a tool for removing freeze plugs. Drill a hole, screw in the Dorman tool and pry out the plug. I wish I still had my old catalogs from when I had to keep the Dorman cabinets full at the parts store in the 80s and 90s.

I've always known the Dorman tool as a freeze plug puller. And I also thought that the ownership of that logo on the socket was put to rest. I just can't remember who.
