I need a couple of metal brackets like the one in the picture. I need something about 2" high, 1" wide that sticks out about 1/2". I have tried all kinds of bracket searches on google with no luck. The pic I did find is from place in the UK. I struck out at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc. I need something that can hold about 25 lbs. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I've seen flat metal mending plates at the hardware store that are about that size - a couple bends in the vise and there you go.

Just do a google search on 'metal mending plate' and you'll see some examples, they come in all different sizes.

Even if McMaster Carr had them I would probably just make them myself... What an excuse to use a vise and a big hammer.. :)

Try a Fire Extinguisher Supply house. That looks just like a wall bracket for hanging a fire extinguisher on.

IIRC, that bracket looks to be close to what is used on some sliding

garage door setups. Don't hold me to it. Could also be close to

straps that are used to barricade a door with a 2x4. I'd bet you could

find something in an "old" hardware store, even if it needed to be cut

into two pieces (a two fer one deal). Otherwise, get some strap, and

bend them yourself sounds to be feasible. How identical must they be ?
