guys i need help finding a starting point, which garage to start with and what to do in what order.
the red garage is 12X24x8'ceiling
the white is 10*16*14'ceilings
I also have a chroming, powdercoat, and anodizing room that is 12x12x10'ceilings
I need to figure out how to ge the most out of the home shops as possible since i am downgrading my night work. 2 main things to take care of is a new garage door, and man door on the red garage and new siding to make it match the white garage and the house. Those things may not get done until this spring with finances and all. The red garage is having the wooden workbench ripped out. I want to outfit the garages with heat, new lights, new outlets, cabinets and benches, sheet rock, paint, and floor coat. I would like to connect the two garages but i don't know if i can. any help will be appreciated. I will keep this as one thread and post photos of the progress on these areas.

attached here is te white garage.

First, I suggest cabinets - lots of top cabinets and bottom cabinets under each bench. Enclosed storage really cleans an area up.

Second, I suggest consolidating the different hobbies into areas and get those areas set up specifically for those activities. A welding area with limited to no combustible materials, an anodizing area with improved ventillation for example.

all the metal finishing stuff is in a seperate area already. I made sure it was at least 75' away. As for the garages, where too start? I was thinking the sheetrock, But I don't even know. Can you put metal siding on an existing building if you pull the t-111 off? I will be insulating the place with R30all the way around. After looking around to the builds and retrofits i found the way i am going to do the rock, paint, lights, and epoxy. Now i just need a spot to start.

Cabinets are a must to start with!!!!!!!

Then figure out work benches and other storage means for small items.

I found a couple of home re-modelers who just give away kitchen cabinets on Craigslist. I keep missing out on them but that is how I hope to score mine. I also bought some plastic storage tubs that are working out well for some items. Here is a link for PA. Maybe one of the cities is close to you.
