Key facts / what I am looking for:

- affordable but safe
- 110v
- manual locking no compressor needed
- ability to stand under (I'm 6'3")
- ability to drive on w low clearance sports car

Any suggestions for the above? Triump has a $2300 lift on Amazon but haven't heard much about them. Was considering this as one option.

Direct Lift may work but not sure about the height. I am 5' 11" and can walk under mine. Also depends how low your sports car is. Mine is a lowered 08 Viper and lay a 2x6 in front of each ramp works well.

I like the Worth chain lift. Made right here in Texas but it does not fit in the "affordable" category to well. Will probably splurge for it anyway. They are willing to modify the deminsions slightly to fit my garage.
So many out there to choose from, I've spent days researching them online and if I don't do the Worth it will be BendPak.

Someone recommended the Bandpak Hd 9 xw to me. Is it worth spending more for this? Not sure i want to have to use a compressor.

I got the Greg Smith Atlas 409-HP (extra wide/extra tall). I'm 6'3 and my son is about 6'6". He has to slightly dip beneath the rails, I have no issues, even with a hat on. They list it at officially 6'4" of clearance, you can raise the lock rails a bit on the bolt and get another inch or two out of it.
The bottom car in the pic (track only 944) sits a bit under 3" off the ground, and I drive it up the ramps onto it with no issues. My two 928's also have no issues with it.

(The lift is not at full height in that picture, that's the only picture I have at the moment. And yes, my garage is a mess in the pic, you're supposed to politely ignore that part)..

And best of all, it's cat approved.

Unless you make your living lifting several cars a day up into the air to make repairs I don't know why anyone would spend more than what Greg Smith charges for their Atlas lift.

If you have the cash to impress your friends then by all means spend it on something very very similar, painted a different color and more expensive. If however you want a safe and economical lift take a hard look at what Greg Smith sells.

Also make sure that you have the appropriate ceiling height in your garage for the thing with cars on and under it. I almost did not.

I'm 6'-2" and am looking at the Eagle MS-8000XLT.
I can get under it easily and the base price includes
aluminum ramps.
