So if it wasnt air brushed then it wouldnt be a toy? Lol.. I'm sure it's a lot better than the $50 Princess Auto auto-darkening welding mask my shop has. And the uvex mask does not interest me at all. Thanks for posting it though.

Yes any fixed shade helmet are allot better than a cheap auto darken headset. However, I don't think that the Snap on fixed shade Skull shaped helmet is better than the $49 large glass fixed shade Snap on helmet that you can get off the same truck.

Actually, I think the $49 one is better because I can get glass for it anywhere, I can get any shade glass for under $4 each, cheater lenses(ill probably be needing in a few years), and I can get clear glass to put on front to take a beating for about $1 each. Can you easily get replacement glass for the skull shaped helmet? and if so, what shades are available? cheater lenses? and how much are they?

It is your helmet, so get the one you want.

I've got the "bone head" one and i love it. the welding lens is #10 shade which is great, very good visibility and you can't beat the field of vision and the low profile the helment has is awsome ( i find myself using this helment more than any of my miller elite helments when i weld)! the clear shild is also great for grinding....very easy to change the lens and very comfy fit on your head.

Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to get replacement lenses? Cost? Can you get anything other than #10?

I could not find the answers on the Snap on page.

Thanks,

Chris

i ordered a new welding lens a few weeks ago, they have been on backorder. I get the feeling from my snap on guy that snap on (the company) waited to start producing replacment lens until they saw how the helments sold should be pretty easy to get soon enough. they are not offering anything but a #10 as far as i know

Thanks for the info!

Glad they sold a sufficient quantity for you to be able to get replacement glass.

See American Lockpicker's avatar? That's what you're gonna look like if you buy one of the two you posted. Hey, you asked!

No way, American Lockpickers Avitar = Bender who appears to be more based on my dad's old metal-fiber style of welding mask. Maybe I can get the grin airbrushed on.

If you want it to be cool just get a plain one and have it custom painted the way you like it. If you want to show your individuality "like everyone else" get one of the two that you posted and wear it proudly with your tribal tattoos. :lol_hitti :lol_hitti :lol_hitti
