Help me pick a new compressor

I am looking for new compressor. i would like a vertical one. around 30 gallon tank. I dont think I want a oiless. and really needs to be under $600 to fit my budget. I use a lot of air tools and have a bead blasting cabinet. I dont really understand all the compressor lingo. could someone recommend what hp and what not I am looking for.

quick and dirty answer, forget HP.
Look at the CFM of the compressor. Look at the required CFM of your air tools and find the one that has the highest CFM at 90PSI. Find a compressor that matches or preferably exceeds that. Sounds like you have a lot of cash to work with so a suitable fit shouldn't be too tough to find. Used is always a great option too if you want to save some money.

no actually I dont have a lot of money to work with. That is what I figured I would have to pay to get a decent one. Think I could get one to fit my needs for less?

for blasting most will tell you that you need a bigger tank, motor combo. the minimum i've seen recommended is something like the 60gal husky at home depot. its got decent cfm ratings, good oiled pump, is in your price range and can run a blaster occasionally. the only draw back to me is that it only has a 3.2hp motor. im not sure if thats start up or running..i hope running. look for used ones in your area on craigslist, i found my 80gal husky local used for 400, its well over a grand new

Yeah, I agree that you will find a typical 30 gallon 110V unit to be lacking when using a blasting cabinet. It is possible, but you would be much more satisfied with a $400 60 gallon single stage like the Husky made by Campbell Hausfeld. 10.2 CFM @ 90 PSI and a $430 price tag.

Get the 60 gal HUSKY @ HD.Plenty of CFM's for blasting.

I wish I would have.Stupid me,it was $30 more than the 30 gal.
