So I work at a dealership and we recently aquired a new building from another dealer. When they were moving in, there was a beat down work bench, along with some other odds and ends, but on the work bench was a large vice. Having recently broken my cheap medium sized vice, I was eyeing it, and asked my boss about it. He said "make me a reasonable offer and its yours".

So, my question to the Vice experts on the forum -

What is an ERON # 127 Vice worth (both new and used)? It is in need of a good cleaning and has the normal nicks, scuffs, and wear / tear of a used vice, but everything seems to work fine.

I did a couple of quick searches and cant find any info on EROn or the vice #. Is it a cheap knock off or a quality tool?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You forgot to mention the jaw width. Anyways I guess it's decent quality or it'd be noticeably worn or broken by now. I'd probably pay $10 per inch of jaw for it.

Having "Japan" stamped on the side is better than "China", right?

The Vice has 5" Jaws.

That 10 bucks for every inch of jaw on a used vice is a good rule of thumb.

I obviously want to get it for a great price, but at the same time, its my place of work and I dont necessarily want to steal it and potentially have it come back on me.

50 Bucks a fair price for it?

I would offer him $35 (but I am one of the vise STUDENTS on this forum, not an expert)

(I do have a Morgan Chicago 45 in the electrolysis bath at the moment...)

I'd give 25.oo for it. It looks like its been beat on the handles pretty good. However, it is probably better than a Horrible Freight vise, which has a life of about a dozen uses.
