Help me spend ~$60 at HF?

So I'm sitting on ~$60 of HF gift cards, and I'm trying to figure out what to spend it on.

I NEVER go in person, so I'm looking for ways to spend that and get relatively good value for my money. What would you suggest?

I've got a decently large, inherited, set of tools with most being 40 years old (+/- 20 years). On most of the basics I may have multiples, but if it's something I'd be happy having another one or a new one, great.

I could use some organization so suggestions towards organizing stuffs are probably great. Thanks!

Sign up for their emails and shop the current deals from home before you decide.
No sense in buying anything at full price if it's not something you need right now.

They've started carrying us general branded toolbox organizers (wrench racks, socket rails, pliers racks etc.) The one's I've purchased so far have been nice.

I think the 4 wheel moving dollys are an excellent value. It’s worth buying one if you only need the castors. They come in 2 sizes, or at least they used to back when I bought mine.
HF chip brushes are good to have around for applying liquid epoxy or paint primer. So cheap you can toss ‘em.

I wouldn‘t buy their sandpaper. In my experience from a few years ago, it wears out almost instantly. Maybe HF sandpaper has improved. :dunno:

Some of their nitrile gloves are good.

Like G.B. Just said, the socket rails are good. I have about 6 of them.

the "good" rubber gloves
Which ones are those? I'm not in the habit of using gloves when I should...but I should be.

Not really with shipping. Not too many of the deals are more than $7 off, especially if it's not that expensive to begin with.

Which ones? Are the cheap $3 or $4 for a set acceptable?

Thanks for all the replies. Any tools worth getting? Or anything in the sale?

The $10 torque wrenches seem reasonable, but not sure where I'd use them (and I have and use a 1/2 inch one on wheels)

The new Daytona 3 ton jackstands are nice. On sale for 29.99 a pair this week. Have safety bar and safety pins. 2 sets of them cover you.

You must be getting different emails than I do. Here's just from the first page of this weekend's current coupons...

Typically only after I see a deal in an email for a tool I've been eyeballing will I drive to HF for a purchase. Never dealt with nor meant to imply anything to do with their shipping costs.

Over 16 years ago I purchased this dolly at Harbor Freight for about the same price that it is today and it has never failed me, not even once. I recently bought a Stanley Vidmar 12 drawer storage cabinet at a local factory auction and wheeled it from the shop floor to the loading dock using this dolly. That cabinet stands about 5 feet tall and weighs 540 lbs empty. This dolly handled it without any issues. Use a 20% off coupon and you’ll get it for less than $60.

Fair enough...they do have bigger discounts sometime. And I would be more than happy to buy something on sale!

I guess I'm thinking about what I should be eyeing. If there is something more expensive I might eye - you are right - it might make sense to wait until it's on sale.

I've actually got 2, presumably inexpensive, multimeters. One does get used occasionally. What do I get by upgrading?

Well if you have two already, nothing, just a suggestion in your price range. Put it towards a lift cart then.

If you have any $$ left over I'd pick up a few paint brushes. Only about a buck apiece. Sure they're cheaply made, but they get the job done. And they're over 5X cheaper than a top end brush like a Purdy or a Richard brand.

I really like the 7mil gloves. Always keep a few boxes around the house. Great for working on greasy and dirty stuff. I like wearing them when I change oil in the vehicles and equipment.

But....but going in person so you can stroll around and laugh at all the **** is half the fun!

(def. "****" noun: HF merchandise that you would never buy or accept as a gift)
