Help me to place my lift correctly...

So my concrete contractor did a nice job in replacing my very cracked and uneven garage floor with a new slab:

12" x 12" rebar and drilled and epoxied rebar to current foundation... They did about 5 inches thick across the board and a 4' x 12' section in the middle 12" deep and with an additional layer of rebar. The slab turned out great except they put a 1/2" or so deep channel right in the middle of the 4' x 12' section of the slab as shown here:

(The cardboard represents the base plate and post of the lift I've purchased.)

My question is whether I can anchor the lift across that channel or whether I have to keep anchors 6" or so inches away as if it were a joint... If I have to avoid the channel, I would place it where shown in the pic and it would end up being on the edge of the 12" deep portion of the slab...

Could I get your thoughts on my dilemma?

I'd bolt it on the channel - it's just a control joint for when the slab contracts. It's full of rebar so there won't be any movement anyways.

I did the same type of repair in my garage on a portion of the floor that was broken in several spots. Back breaking work!

As the concrete cures it shrinks and cracks. The control joint "controls" where that crack occurs by providing a less thick, and thus weaker, slab at that location. If you could see the end of a slab you'd likely see where the crack starts at the control joint and progresses to the bottom of the slab. Better than a random crack out in the middle of the slab.
As for an anchor drilled into a joint, I'd avoid it if there was going to be an upward/pulling force at that location.

Thanks for your comments! Now that I've found more threads about not anchoring a 2 post lift near joints, cracks, etc... I'll keep the anchors at 6 inches from any of these..
