hello gents. i have a miller 35 old machine not "white face" i bought it used 15 years ago i use it very little. at one time it was feeding wire sporaticly. feed motor seemed to have a "dead spot" it would feed then quit then feed then quit. i took motor out looked at it put it back i took guns in had new liners installed bought new rollers for drive unit. it worked beautifully for a while. then it started "sometimes not feeding wire" any ideas? is it junk is the drive motor rebuildable? repairable fixable? here is a pic of the machine. thanks in advance

update. at the rectifier on the right i have 7.36 vdc. the left rectifier. (picture is upside down) which has no dc out.(why rectify if you arent using the dc?.?) i have 34 vdc. if i pull the trigger i get a 7 vdc surge momentarily on the feed to the motor. after the bigger resistor (10 ohm.) my meter does not have the ability to test a capacitor. so i swapped the electrolytic capacitors on the rectifier. no change. where should i look from here? my machine has a second "ice cube" relay that does not change states. and is not on the diagram provided. again any help is appreciated

in case anyone is following, thanks to Lx460. and his pdf of wiring diagram. i went through all the wiring and testing all the devices. i determined that a 1.5 ohm variable resistor should not go from 1.2 ohm to k ohms to meg ohms. i then spun dial back and forth several times cleaning the "coil" and "wiper" this made the variable resistor vary from 1.0 ohm to 1.5 ohm just as the book said it should. so i then hooked it all back together and ran it. it is no longer for sale. i shall keep it.

My Hobart had a similiar problem. Hobart actaully had a repair for it and even sold the parts. i had to do some soldering on the control board but the machine feeds wire without a hitch now.

Go to the Miller website and see if they have a forum section. Thats how I found what was ailing my HH.
