help. my matco work light burned

my favorite work light. plugged it to get charged and it sparked and smoked and no more light. can it be saved anyhow?? any ideas

might be repairable if you can find the right parts at radioshack or online and change out the damaged pieces

What model is that tool? If you can find a schematic that tells you what IC you need it's just a matter of soldering it in. If you can't get a schematic, see if someone else with that work light can send you the numbers written on that IC in theirs.
