Ok guys,whats the general consensus on a good 1/4 air hose coupler. I broke my Amflo yesterday and it was a univeral fit connector. I want another another coupler that also fits universal connectors on air tools. What yall' recommend without breaking the bank?

A few years back my dad's company was sold and the new owners came in and revamped everything. He grabbed me some air fittings that were to be tossed out. I got about a dozen of these Parker couplers and they are awesome. Push on without pulling the sleeve, seal great, rounded edges.
They are a little pricey, but now that I know what I know I don't think I can use a cheap one ever again. Luckily I have a good supply of them.

No the Parker 30 series fits the industrial interchange style. They work great when used in a fixed location but if you couple two hoses together the lack of a sleeve guard can cause them to disconnect when one end is dragged on the ground.
Universal quick connects are nice but are prone to failure and wear.
Maybe compromise by having a couple in the shop that are used sparingly.

Works with every brass or steel male plug I have. I have several nailers with whatever male connectors came with them. Same with air tools in the garage. Pic below is the hose I use for my pancake and nailers. Been using it for several years.
I rarely ever couple hoses together. I have a pancake compressor for finish work and a reel with 50' in the garage.
I'll check the other 6 or so female couplers to see if they are also 30s. Pretty sure they are.

Why a universal? Male plugs are cheap. If it were me, I'd switch over to one style. Unless you're working in a shop with a variety of other peoples tools.
I like M/I style couplers... Milton, Foster, Parker are quality manufacturers and reasonably priced.
