Help needed circulating heat effectively in garage

Hey gang, I've been reading this forum as a lurker for a few weeks, and wish I had found it sooner in my garage build...lots of gold here.

I need some help with ideas for moving the heat around in my garage.

Here's the details...

28'x53' garage. 16' stem walls. 2x8 construction with R38 insulation. 14x14 and two 8x8 insulated doors.

Mezzanine down one of the long sides of the garage.

Reznor gas heater mounted to ceiling in SE corner.

Thermostat mounted to S wall at normal height.

The problem...

The garage is insulated insanely well. However, as is normal when the heater kicks on, as is normal the heat stays up high for the most part.

This was not a problem till we built the mezzanine.

Now that we go "upstairs" it is a big problem.

It is easily 20+ degrees hotter upstairs.

So downstairs you still need a jacket to work comfortably, while upstairs all you need is a swimsuit.

What I need...

I want to figure out a solution that will circulate/push down the heat to the main floor and make the whole garage more of an "even" temp.

Some of you, have undoubtedly dealt with a similar situation.

As of now the only possibly workable idea I have is to put 2 or 3 ceiling fans down the centerline of the ceiling with the blades set to push air down...but I don't even know if that would work.

Any and all ideas are welcome.

Same. Mine is only on the 8' part, runs all the time.

Ceiling fans. Pushing air down. I have 4 in the shop and it does well.

Have not built the mezzanine yet. I like yours. Is the black iron thingy up there a lift or elevator?

I would look at the Fan Tech in-line fans. Put an inlet high over the mezzanine with the duct ending at the floor level below. They are good, quiet & efficient units.

Dont push hot air..it cools when you do that. Push the cold air to the hot.

I would put something like a in floor fan at the back of the mezaanine. This is where you want cooler air and will separate the upper levels hot air from cold .

This. Get a cheap fan, sit it on the floor and push the cold air at ground level towards the heater. Convection will take care of the rest.

I know it makes no sense, but having a wood stove and spending years on a wood stove forum (yes, they actually have them). The question comes up alot. I still hate getting blasted by cool air at our lake house, but after a few hours it warms up.

In addition to fans I would also recommend cutting a few false floor vents/registers into the floor of the mezzanine to help upward air flow. I would think that under the mezzanine it is cold, and probably due to creating a air pocket.
