help needed with build - electrical

Hi all thanks for looking in, my name is shoots and live in the UK.
been meaning to post for some help with an electrical issue, not a biggy and hope you can help.

am currently building an oscillating sander and need to drive a 24v 3.3A wheelchair motor via my 240v supply.
ideally need to be variable voltage from 12-24v so can manage the up and down motion easier.
currently running with a battery.

so the question is how would you do it and with what?

Do you have speed control now while using a battery? Or is it just running at a fixed rate?

Clearly this is a DC motor so you will need to not only reduce your mains voltage, but you need to rectify it to DC.

This bench supply would get it done,, but you need to find a Euro version for 240 Volt mains.
