Help Needed with Vintage Crescent Wrench

I have been slowly bringing a 12" Crescent wrench back from the dead. When I write "Crescent wrench", I mean a genuine made in USA drop forged steel adjustable wrench manufactured by Crescent Tool Co. in Jamestown, N.Y. :)

Anyway, I unfortunately ran into a small snag that is preventing me from completing this restoration. The spring that normally accompanies the pin and knurl is gone. It seems that Crescent/Apex only has parts available for 15" and larger wrenches. Where can I find a factory spring (preferred), or what can I use as a suitable replacement (if no spare factory parts exist)?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.
