I need to replace the track and hardware on some bi-fold doors. I have been told there is better hardware than the bottom of the line hardware the builder used over 50 years ago. I want to replace the hardware with top quality hardware so I never have to deal with the doors again. I would appreciate any advice about what hardware to look for and what distinguishes the top quality hardware. Thanks in advance for the help.

Pemko, Johnson, hager, and national all make decent hardware, Hafele distributes several european lines as well. What size and weight doors do you have?
I sell and install architectural door hardware for a living.

I've replaced all of my bifold hardware with Johnson. I've found it good quality works much better than the cheap stuff that comes with the doors.
