Dave, thanks for the info. It is only about 3" wide BUT it is geared so I'm thinking it can cut thicker mild steel.

Yep, I used one yesterday.
Your's ought to cut 3/16" at a minumum, it may do 1/4" or a little more.
I find it handy for a quick cut here and there, easier and quieter than the bandsaw.
