OK i finally got my $$$$$ from refinansing. i plan on a down and dirty pole building!
i was looking at 24x30 ish with 14ft ceilings (a must for my lift) can some one help me with a materials list and rough guees on cost. I'm definitly going with a metal roof(most of it was free left overs from a friend) and i got 1 man door. i love free stuff. i got plenty of help for labor. but was kinda in the dark for pole building list. is it realalistic to put up this garage empty shell with a concret floor. for under 8k. remember labor is free. i might have to pay for some one to pour floor.
I got time to insulate/wire/drywall later just need to get a building to put my cars/tools in till house is done.

Any lumber company that sells to farmers and pole barn builders can give you a materials list for any sized building that you would like to put up. Simply subtract what you have on hand. Around here there are a couple of builders that can put up a shell cheaper than you or I can buy the materials. Setting those 18-20 foot poles is more of a job than you might think. Having a pro come in and set and square your poles, lift your trusses and nail on the purlins could be a good idea. Any Amish barn builders in your area? They have a reputation for quality work at fair prices.

You are going to want pressure treated poles.

The monthly electric CoOp magazine we get has about a zillion ads for pole barn builders and material suppliers. Several offer building packages. You can go in and get a materials list for any of the packages that they offer. It is no big deal and you are not obligated to buy anything from them.
