Help - Preparing flooring for Armorpoxy

So I've already diamabrushed the entire garage down to bare concrete and my Armorpoxy kit arrived today.

So phase 2 is degreasing with Zep concrete degreaser and using the acid that came in the kit. I noticed that AFTER doing these two steps and hosing out the garage, there seems to be areas that are repelling water (or soaking it up like mad) that were never there before.

Is there something I could have done wrong with the degreasing and acid wash?

I'm hesitant to lay down the primer now.....

Hmmm...... you seem to have done things a bit backwards. Generally you clean and degrease first, then you either acid etch or grind - rarely both.

Areas that absorb water are nothing to worry about - it's a good thing. Tell us more about the areas that you say repel water. Does it bead up or just take a while to absorb? It shouldn't be from a sealer since you used a grinder to prep. Are they previously oily areas? Are they in the general area where the tires from the vehicles would sit?

I ground the concrete bare, then degreased, then acid etched....even though the acid step probably wasn't needed.

think I just panicked a bit. all the water absorbed just fine. probably a good thing that I was worried because I ended up using my power washer and managed to free up some dirt/silt that was left behind after scrubbing with the degreaser and etching.

going to give it 48 hours to dry out then prime.

note: my concrete was previously painted with home depot type coatings
