Send them back, give negative feedback and buy a new set of a different brand unless you score a "snappy deal".
WHY!?Gents, I did send these back to the seller. So far, he has been cooperative.
i haven’t seen my money yet. I fully intend to write a positive review.
in the Big Picture, seller DID back up his sale. Some could say “pound sand”
As another poster wrote in. All in all I have never had a problem with ANY item I
Ppurchased from EBay. I did receive a wiper motor that had a tab broken off.
I wrote and photographed the damage. Seller was Over-The-Top to make it right.
Offering to send out a completely new part. i Tried the part in my SUV.
It was a little loose , but it worked. End of story. That seller is on my Favorites list.
Seller of these tools are on my No-Fly list.
Ya, but it's Snap On.Also, $110 for used nut drivers?
Wow.

Sure, then they'd get burned with a SNADSome could say “pound sand”
All the same, if looking like new is important, then you should just buy new and not try to pinch pennies… Or I guess it should be pinch nickels now…. and set yourself up for disappointment. They'd care if they paid good money for them and did not know in advance, they were engraved.
This has come up here more than once and good eBay sellers will disclose them up front.
Stupid Question: Engravings and Value
I've noted on fleabay and elsewhere, tool ads that declare "no engravings". How much and why does it reduce value so much, and is engraving in the minority due to the lower resale? Are engraved tools that much of a gamble?www.garagejournal.com
My favorite is the ones that claim "mint condition" followed by a long list of modifications. If I buy a used car that has 20000 miles and the seller says “like new” I know that’s impossible. Nothing that is used is “like new”.
Gents, I did send these back to the seller. So far, he has been cooperative.
So, you would pay the same amount for a used car, that was all scraped up and smelled like cat piss inside, as a similar unit in very good condition? If I buy a used car that has 20000 miles and the seller says “like new” I know that’s impossible. Nothing that is used is “like new”.
The one amongst ourselves apparently. So what disagreement are we settling?

So....the OP trolled us?The one amongst ourselves apparently.![]()
Well, it got everybody going.So....the OP trolled us?

Translation? My wife found a used set of Alpine Stars on marketplace. Growing boys. Dirt bikes Christmas. And sent me the link. Nowhere could you determine if the buckets were intact. Wonder why? Went new instead.
Don't buy shady **** on eBay like that.
There is stuff hidden in pics in the ad? There's probably a reason.Translation?
Buckle's, not buckets. Motocross bootsTranslation?
I was thinking helmets.Buckle's, not buckets. Motocross boots
This is the correct answer. I would 100% either get a refund or some sort of compensation from him for hiding the marks. And fleabay would happily side with me on it because they are not as described. You guys must not be ebay sellers, lol. A buyer can do "not as described" and force a return no matter what. It's happened to me several times. Is it douchebaggery? Sure. But so is taking deceptive pictures. So it's up to you if you want to go ***-for-tat on this. But you can absolutely send them back for a refund.
I bought some tools from the internet site that sounds like Ebroke.
there was only 1 picture posted. Only the sizes were listed In the descriptio.
NOTHING ELSE.
I received the tools and they had Initials branded in to the
plastic handle. NOT VISABLE, NOR MENTIONED in the ad. The included
pictures I took after opening up the shopping box.
i called the seller out and he got very defensive.
Are initials or markings supposed to be descriptive in the ad?
what would you do?

I'm the same way. And if somebody is looking at something I'm selling and isn't sure, I'll tell them to walk away from it if it doesn't make their heart smile.Fellow Garage Men,
no trolling here. Not by a long shot. I do not do that. My interest lies
only in what others here expect to receive on Ebay under the used tool header.
i thank everyone who has a comment. I would really like to hear what others have to say.
I have a very different view on selling. I very much OVER disclose an item.
I photograph every detail. I want to make absolutely sure that both myself (seller)
and buyer can walk away and say. “Hey, I think I got a good deal here.“ Anyone who knows
me always wants to buy my cars, mowers, gas powered stuff. I pride myself in having
all items on a car, mower, aircraft etc, work perfectly and as designed
. I despise making excuses up over non functional
problems. If it’s not nearly perfect working order, you WILL be advised. And the price
Will reflect that fact.
I bet you are right. And that's why I ask for more pics of stuff if there aren't pics of everything I care about. And if I can't get them, I either walk or I assume there's something being hidden.Nothing worse than the feeling of getting ripped off. I’m guessing everyone here
has been exposed or experienced a fraud or sketchy deal in the past.
Experiencing a sour deal you never forget the details, yet you prolly can’t remember
the guys name if it was a pleasant experience.
That SK dude has his initials on a bunch of stuff too!I bought a bunch of tools, and they had the initials KD on them. I have no idea who KD is, but he has good taste in tools, and it looked like he never used them.![]()
I have a lot of wrenches that apparently used to be owned by a couple of guys named "Drop Forged" and "Chrome Vanadium".That SK dude has his initials on a bunch of stuff too!
You forgot film equipment.used tools and bicycles by definition have better than a 50-50 chance there will be initials or a driver's license number engraved somewhere on them.

So which are you advising op to do?Couldn't you also do the ultimate Dbag move and just claim it not received and force the seller to refund the money and you keep the tools?
...
Ebay is just like the car business.... everyone understands what "as is no warranty" means until something happens then it's everyone else's fault except for their own....
And that’s fine as long as it’s disclosed.used tools and bicycles by definition have better than a 50-50 chance there will be initials or a driver's license number engraved somewhere on them.
eBay doesn’t work like that at all.Ebay is just like the car business.... everyone understands what "as is no warranty" means until something happens then it's everyone else's fault except for their own....
