Lead ingots for plumbing maybe. My great grandpa was a plumber, he used lead ingots to fix pipes by taking his gasoline torch and melting them in his asbestos glove and then smeared it it a leaky pipe or some such. Good thing OSHA wasn't around back then!

Lead ingots for plumbing usually came in 5-pound size. These look to be a little small for a plumbing ingot a about 1/2" diameter. They might be used to melt in a small lead pot for small items like making fishing sinkers or fishing jigs in molds.

What are they for?
Melting down and using, probably for plumbing.
Where did they come from?
Looks like reclaimed lead.

Thanks for the guesses but they are so small, about 3/8” and all the same size. Seems like a lot of work to just melt??

Not necessarily. If you were going to use a small melt pot to make sinkers or jigs, what size raw lead would you want? Would you want large pieces, or small? Wouldn't small ones be easier to measure out for how much lead you want in the pot rather than taking a knife or saw to a large ingot? Wouldn't the small pellets melt faster? What size and shape SHOULD they be for making sinkers?

Not saying that's what they are for sure, just saying that their size in no way precludes their use as melting lead for small DIY projects.

As for the 'guesses', without any markings on them, that's probably all we're left with.
