Hey guys,

I need some quick help to get an idea of the value of a chain hoist. Reason I am asking is I am looking at a Prentiss No95 vice and the seller is wanting to sell the vise and this chain hoist together. I just want to make sure I am not over paying. I might end up keeping the hoist as it looks pretty cool...but just need some affirmation on value.

Seller is an older gentleman who says he received the vice and hoist from his grandfather. He doesn't know the details of make or model. :dunno: I know I'm not giving you much...sorry!!

I see those around here (NH) at yard sales and flea markets all the time. They are usually the free left overs because they are so old and untrustworthy. I 'd probably offer $10 since the old man has a sentimental attachment. I would look cool fixed though.

"It" would look cool fixed.

I never new a man who looked any different after they were fixed. Felt different....yes., look different....no!

After we agreed upon the price for the vise I got the hint he was just wanting to lighten the load and suggested he just throw in the hoist...he wasn't so keen on that idea. :wtf: Still wanted $50 for it even though I told him GJ said $25 was a more then generous offer. Apparently he doesn't value GJ's opinion.
