HELP! What is this Ridgid Part?

Well I was doing some workshop clean-up this weekend and swept out under my workbench. I found this part that has Ridgid on it but I can't for the life of me figure out what tool it goes with. It is pristine, and looks like it fell off the bench when I was unboxing something. "

Looks like the piece that goes on the extension tube of the 18v handheld vacuum. I can't tell you what the purpose is

It holds the crevice tool on the side of the extension so it's handy when you need it. However it might be more useful if you just put it back where you found it.

Makes sense the crevice tool stays on my vacuum and we don't ever use the extension so I didn't even think of that.

And I would have never thrown the part away, thinking it will be vital to the operation of some tool in the future.
