Help! Which Hoist do I have?!

Hey folks,

I recently inherited a Harbor Freight hoist that is roughly a 2017 vintage model. (Back when they painted them yellow. They’re red now.)
Trouble is, I don’t know what the capacity of it is. There seem to be zero markings on the hoist itself. No stickers, placards, stampings or tags that give me even the slightest hint of what model it might be. No sticker on the motor with a HP or wattage/amperage rating. The whole unit seems to be informationally sterile. Best I can say is it’s got a 110v plug.
I measured the thickness of the cable with a pair of calipers. It’s 0.1940” in diameter. That’s larger than 3/16” and smaller than 7/32”. Which doesn’t match any of the cable specs for the models online. (Thought I might get sneaky and find some clues that way but to no avail!)
I looked at the four current models that HF sells. One is just rated at 880 lbs, one is rated at 440/880, one is rated at 1300 and the big kahuna is 1000/2000 lbs.
(I’m aware that you get double the capacity by setting up a block and tackle by attaching the hook to the hoist body and using the pulley to attach to the load.)
The only other thing I can find that seems to be unique to the 1000/2000 lb model on HF’s site is the control has a red stop button in addition to the up and down buttons. My hoist also has a red stop button but a rocker switch for up and down.
Does anybody have any thoughts, short of rigging up a scale and physically lifting some weight, on how I might figure out the capacity of this thing? I’ll attach a few pics.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice/help!
-Dave

Do you have a way to measure how many Amps your unit is pulling? Clamp on meter or Kill A Watt?

Given that it is unlabeled and the risk of injury the safe bet is to assume it is the smallest unit. The copay for a minor ER visit is less than a new unit costs.

Based on cable diameter, I'd say its the 1300# one. Coming from China, the cable is likely 5mm rather than an inch dimension. They call it 3/16 as there's only about .010" difference between 3/16 and 5mm. The 1300# would be with a 2 part line and you'd have a single line pull of 650#. I've had one of the smaller ones for years, used to load heavy blanks into a cnc lathe. Although it would handle the load with a single line, I've always found it to be much easier to control with a 2 part line and half the speed.
