This is on our house. New house Dec. 07, carrier comfort 92 furnace. Last night , I wake up at 3 am and the heater isn't working. I can hear the inducer come on, the gas light, and when the blower kicks, it shuts off, and the cycle starts all over. I turn it off for about 30 min., turn it back on and it runs fine
So I bump the t-stat up a few more degrees, so it'll run longer and warm the house back up.
I wake up again at 6 am, the inducer is running, gas lights, then goes out.
We had a similar problem right after we moved in last winter.
Now I make the connection, it is the weather......last winter when the problem surfaced, we were having an ice storm, last night we were having snow. After I realized that, I went outside and poured hot water on the regulator (north side of house), wrapped it with a towel and stacked bags of fertilizer around it. I came back in and turned on the heat, and it is working fine so far
Is the regulator bad, freezing up? It is no way nearly as cold here as elsewhere in the country. Everyone around here has LP heat, if it is freezing, seems to me, I wouldn't be the only one
Or do you guys think it is something else? Thanks in advance! Least we are warm (for now)......
