help with a malfunctioning led light fixture

A few months ago, several very helpful guys here directed me to led light fixtures for my garage. We ended up with a hanging one that is plugged in from Costco which worked great for awhile. Now in one of the fixtures, one of the led light strips is flickering much like a flurescent bulb that is about to go out completely and it appears the strips are solid with the fixture so no way to adjust or change it.

The Brand name is Felt Electric, model number 74093, no serial number but a date code of 280-5532. It did have a web site (www/felt.com) but that web is no longer there and googling information on the company turned up nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks. My husband was trying to read the name from the top of the hanging fixture and likely mistook the i for an l; he wasn't wearing his glasses.

Since we've only had the fixture since Feb., I hope that if it is the driver, the company will make good on this. There is a contact us tab on their site, so I can try.

exchange for new. the driver is dying.

Jason is right.
Costco is great with returns/exchanges. You don't even need a receipt. Your purchases are in their computer. Just grab another one while you are there or get a cash refund.
I have 5 in my little work space and so far I haven't seen that problem.

Roughly how many hours have they been used? Do you have them on a dimmer?

Not sure how many hours they've been used, but on ave. 12 hours per week since mid Feb, so maybe 144 to 150 hours; not long. Costco is no longer carrying them (one week later my husband went back to get a couple more for other areas and they were sold out completely with no further shipments) so we'd have to get a refund and find a light elsewhere. However, if Feit is the correct site, then they will replace it as their products have a 5 year warranty. So it looks like either way we're covered. We don't use a dimmer.

My local Costco in Richmond CA had a whole pallet full last week, still priced at $29.99 The latest model has a receptacle in one end so you can link multiple fixtures. That is a handy feature for some situations. Maybe your Costco is between models and will get more of the newer model soon.
IMHO, you can't beat the amount of light, the economy of operation, and the price. Longevity is yet to be determined. :dunno:

Thanks. I also just heard back from Feit. It's be more convenient if our local Costco did have a replacement fixture, but Feit for sure will replace the unit once we mail the defective one to them. It's good to know we're covered both ways. Until this one had the problem, they really were stellar. Since they're covered both ways, I'm fairly sure that failure is not common and that expected longevity of 40,000 hours of use will usually be realized.

Does FEIT pay for the shipping of the defective unit or is that on you?

They didn't offer to in their email and shipping may be about the same as the cost of replacement. So we're going to check out Costco first. If that doesn't pan out, I'll call Feit to see what can be done about shipping.

Good question.
