HI,
i was not sure where to post this so i thought i would put it here. i recently did some changes to my irrig. system in my back yard & now i have a air bubble in my waterline. everytime my sprinklers come on or switch off there is a loud "thud" in the system:wtf:. i am concerned that it will "wear" or rub a hole in the system line. i am wondering how to get a air pocket out of my house waterline???? the copper lines were put in when the house was built in 1982. i have already experienced a wear spot that turned into a costly "water damaged" repair 3 yrs. ago. any help would be very appreciated!!!:)

thanks!!

First question I'd have is do you live in the freeze zone? If it has been subjected to a freeze, has it thawed since? Have you purged the system with compressed air? Once you purge and refill, any air should be eliminated. If I heard that in my system, I'd think that it was due to a pipe having some movement in it and when it fills it bangs against something, maybe the corner to the next line.
TO get air out of your house water line, open ALL your taps and faucet, turn off the main, then turn it back on and go about shutting each faucet from the lowest point upwards. I've had to do that a couple times after having shut down when on holidays.
I'm sure the actual plumbers will have more to say on this.
