Help With Bendpak Lift

I need some help/input with the installation of my lift. I purchased a HD9-ST a few months ago and finally getting around to finishing it up and are unsure about the I have shimmed it. When I bought it I didn't really notice that my garage had quite a slope from front to rear. Now once I assembled the lift it became very aparent the slope is an huge issue. With out adjusting the ladders inside the post I basically needed 3" so level the post out. Got a hold of some steel and shimmed it. It is level and raises and lowers fine. However the more and more I look at it I don't like the way its shimmed. My questions are before I go ahead and rip out the steel, how much adjustment is in the ladders? As well has anyone one else ran into this problem and if so what was your fix? I know some people would say the best solution is to repour the floor, however that isn't in the cards.
So any help would be awesome.

I was lucky in that I didn't have to shim mine, but I would not rely on the ladders to compensate for more than 1/2" in floor slope. I would suggest - which is JUST MY OPINION and you'll get MANY yes'es or No's here - is to make full shims to fit under the legs requiring it - maybe 1-2" bigger than the leg base. With 3" difference front to back, your ramps will compensate for the difference. If it was side to side it would be more problematic. In the end, if you get any movement of the shims due to moving cars on and off, you could tack them to the bases.
What other ideas you boys got?

In the instructions for my HD-12 it mentioned something about additional shims available from Bendpak if you needed to shim more than the small amount you can do with the shims they include in the kit. You should contact Bendpak customer service, tell them approximately how much you will have to shim it and maybe they have something that will work for you.
