Hey all,

I need help identifying the operating specs of this compressor I just acquired for free from a coworker. I have been scouring the internet and even contacted Campbell Hausfeld for information, but with no luck. I was told it's a 20 gallon and 5ish hp and that he bought it new in the very early 90's. My biggest question is the cfm rating.

The label was worn off due to his father wiping it down with acetone, as you can tell in the pictures. I did find a stamped data plate under the pump that says its a HL702500AJ, as seen in the second picture.

The folks at CH sent me a parts diagram, which does me absolutely no good except tell me P/N's for each piece.

Anyone on here have/had this compressor that can help me out??

:EDIT:
I found some older photos of CH compressors that look like mine, they all say 2hp from what I can tell. Still can't find info on CFM rating though

That looks like the one I threw away when the tank rusted out. It was ok for small things like a 1/2 impact gun. Dont try to use a die grinder very long though. The biggest problem for me was finding a new belt. I could not find one. Its a 9/16 wide 5 groove belt and the pumps vent pukes oil onto the belt. I put sand on mine for traction for years lol

As of now I don't have a need for anything more than filling tires and the occasional impact for lug nuts and stuck bolts. He told me he used it for sanders and even painting his race car at times and that it worked, but took awhile lol. This is my first venture into owning my own air compressor and tools, so I couldn't pass up free! I looked inside best I could and doesn't appear to be corroded anywhere. Thanks for the heads up on the belt though, I'll keep that in mind.

It didn't take long for it to build up pressure and shut off, so it seems to still be in good working order.

BTW, I'll add that even though he wouldn't accept any money for it because he "got his money out of it over the last 20 years," I did give him an 18 pack of Miller Lite since that's what he drinks :)
