I have a 20x28 shop with 9' ceilings. I installed 24 6" recessed cans. The fixture says max 75 watts. What bulbs should i use for the best and most light? I installed some 85 watt 6" indoor flood bulbs in half of the lights and am not happy with the amount of light.

hartattack,
I am very interested in your configuration and what brand/size/type of cans, reflectors/baffles and lights you are using. I have been struggling with the "tubes vs. cans" debate and knowing what has or has not worked for others is very helpful.
I think that knowing the things listed above will also help anyone that wishes to respond to better assist you as well.

I'll be watching this one . . . .

First, ditch the 85 watt lamps-too large a lamp causes excessive heat in the fixture, possibly causing a fire.Next find a BR75lamp with a wide angle reflector-say 50 degrees. If you aren'y happy with these ,try some of the compact flourescent floods that are coming out recently-you may be able to find a CFL that is equal to a 150 watt incandescent.

Please tell me that you are not trying to use 24 75W incandescent lights....

That would be about 15A at 120Vac.....

May I suggest using CFL's.....you can put in a light that puts out the equivilant of 120W of light but only uses 23W of juice.....

Here is a thread were we discussed CFL's vs T8's
