Does anyone have one of these?
This tool is made by Craftsman, I bought it 30 years ago. It is a ratchet type device that you put on a breaker bar. It has a female end for the breaker bar side and a male end that fits on a socket (1/2 inch drive).
Lets say your loosening a wheel (I was explaining this to the Sears guy) and you need to do it with a breaker, bar because the ratchet doesn't give you enough leverage. With this device you can continue loosening the lugnut with a ratcheting motion. The guy at Sears said he can't find it in the catalog because they're discontinued. However, he could research it if he had a part number. There is no part number on it (The worn-out tool).... it just says Craftsman. Believe it or not, the people whom he will be ordering it from are in India! Reminds me of the people I've talked to about my computer and phone service!!
If you know what I'm talking about and you have one of these tools, can you give me the part number so I can order it and get an exchang for free?
THANKS!

Search the tool section, you'll find some info on ratchet adapters.

You are talking about a ratchet adapter. I have never seen a Craftsman ratchet adapter. I have payed close attention to every Sears tool catalog since at least 1978 and I know that tool had to be offered before that time because I would have remembered it. I have several ratchet adapters, and a good many of the tool manufacturers offered them through the years, if you just want one for a reasonable price, PM Rickster or perhaps wrenchr or just post a general WTB in the classified section here. I bet you will have a rough time finding another one of those that is a Craftsman.

BTW: Do not hold your breath on any parts, or free exchanges for a RA, they have not offered them for decades at least! Also, if you want to replace it check Proto, they have bulletproof RA's at far better prices than Snap-on

Doing a looksee at the Sears web site, I went to tools > mechanics tools > ratchets, and it returned 81 items, none of which is the inline ratchet you are looking for, though they have little handless 1/4 and 3/8 drive thumb wheel ratchets and other odd things. Probably discontinued.

Snap On does make them.

Try posting your question on the Craftsman Club site for Sears/Craftsman tools. There are a few guys on that site that seem to be the resident experts on all things Craftsman. They may be able to help. Good luck with your research.

I landed a very nice 1/2" drive Snap-on ratchet adaptor for $20 or $25 on ebay. Generally they go for $50 plus. I would not hold my breath for a Craftsman replacement!
