help with fluorescent light fixtures

Hello all, I have a question about putting some fluorescent fixtures in my workshop. I am installing a osb ceiling in my shop and I want to install some fluorescent fixtures right to the ceiling. I found some of these t8 fixtures for a very reasonable price and was wondering if I could mount them right to the ceiling and hard wire them in( right now I have boxes with the porcelain fixtures that I want too eliminate) These came out of a drop ceiling. Are these worth putting in? Not trying to sound cheap but I want to get by at a affordable price. Thanks in advance.

I used some of these in my garage but only because I got them for free. I mounted them right to the ceiling with some screws through the back and up into the joists. I used them for a while until I got sick of replacing the fluorescent bulbs so I ripped out the ballasts and got a bunch of LED tubes. Ended up costing $16 for 2-bulb and $24 for 3-bulb fixtures. If the fixtures hadn't been free, I would've gone with a new LED light option.

These fixtures are available in 2,3 and 4 bulb units and are 3 dollars each so the price is right. I want to convert to led eventually. How much does a 2 bulb led light cost new? It seems like they are quite pricey?

If you are OK with the Costco FEIT led shoplights, they are 19.99 each right now.
