Hi Guys
Got my walls and trusses up. Cut truss tails and installed 2x6 sub-fascia boards. Going to be sheathing and shingling roof at weekend, but I'm unclear about the detail of the gable end. I'll be using the same 2x6 sub-fascia, but I'm not clear if the sheathing butts up to the back of that or goes on top of that and sits flush with front edge. (I'm assuming the latter)
Anyone make a thin composite material that goes over the sub-fascia, or am I stuck with pre-formed aluminium?
I assume the underlayment and ice shield go up to the edges of the sheathing, but what do i cover the end of the sheathing with at the gable ends? some trim?
from what i've been told, the shingles should overhang the edge by about 1/4-inch
Been googling roof anatomy, etc. for a while but none seem to cover this detail
Can someone help me out or point me to a good web site?
TIA
