help with garage door sensors

i have a craftsman 1/3 hp unit, actually 2 of them but one is fine though. on one side of the garage everytime i hit the door close button on wall the light immediately starts flashing. i can hold the button down and the door will close all the way down but as soon as it is shut and i let it go the door automatically opens back up with the light flashing. i noticed the little indicator lights on the sensors are not on as they should be, (other door sensors have a green light on each one), i bought new sensors, spliced the wires together exactly as they go, still no indicator light is on. thinking the wire may be loose on back of unit. look there and hooked up exactly as the other. follow whole wire in attic above garage and wire seems completely fine. is there something that could go wrong in the actual unit that would cause this problem? how could i check to find out what is causing me this? what i would really rather do is do away with them all together as the sensitivity on door pressure would stop the door if needed. but i dont know if it is possible....if it is possible please tell me how to by pass these pain in the asses please.

At the risk of sounding too obvious, are you certain the sensors are aligned properly? Incorrect alignment will result in the problems you are experiencing.

You said you have two openers - does that mean you have two side by side doors? If so, the sensors from one door may be interfering with the other one. I have this situation with two Genie door openers at my house. Try placing some wood or metal between the adjoining sensors. Good luck.

Please the sender in the middle of your two garages and the receivers at the outside of each garage. That prevents cross talking.

If its not alignment it could just be a malfunction. If so take it back.
