Help with garage vac

My garage is only 15x16 but I can use it all for wood shop. I want to do a vac and dust deputy set up. I’ve seen a lot of YouTubes about building a cart for them to pull around shop.
What is wrong with mounting them on wall to save space and just getting a long hose? Easier and cheaper maybe. Long enough hose and I can even pull it into driveway for car.
Looks like you only need a small vac if you use dust deputy. 4 gal.? 4 hp?
Any thoughts?

The large wall mounted vacuums are not cheap but shallower in profile than a large shop vac. I would think a disadvantage would be getting something stuck in the middle of a 25' hose. With my shop vac I can just knock it out with a broomstick.

Good point about getting something caught in middle of long hose. Hadn’t thought of that. Thanks v

My Craftsman wall mounted shop vac has 35' of 1-7/8" hose. I've never had anything get stuck.

A bit late to the party but I've had great luck with Vacmaster wall mounted units. One in my garage, one in my basement, and another for my soon to be built pole barn. Quieter than many other shop vacs and plenty powerful for my needs. Haven't had anything get stuck in the hoses. Remote controlled.

I used a shop vac, dust deputy and some vacuum pipe.

Works great.
