Looking for a little help deciding on lighting for my shop. The front of the shop is 32'X40' with 16' 8" side walls peaking at about 22' with the trusses. will be used for Basketball and batting cage and little workout area. for the kids and me. so good lighting is needed. the back 32'x24' with flat ceiling at 16' 8" walls will be set up for a trophy room and pool table area. I would like some type of can lighting system in the trophy room area. Any lighting ideas would be helpful. thanks.

Wow! I wish I had one tenth that much space. Anyway...
You have built a gymnasium, right? Look at what your local high school or college has done in their gyms to get an idea of what is involved.
Don't even think about a bunch of T8 fixtures way up high. You need T5HO's or even better, those big LED fixtures. Considering the substantial amount of money you have already invested, consider hiring a lighting engineer to assure a successful outcome.

T8 fixtures are made in a high bay configuration so they would be on my list of options.

The uplight/indirect mounting of the high bay fixture would be really nice where sports activities are involved. That is if the ceiling is reflective enough to make it work. Indoor tennis facilities use this arrangement, and I'm sure many other sports venues also.

I wanted to mimic this in our new barn, but with limited ability to find a particular fixture for uplightIng, I installed some floodlight fixtures pointing up. They cast a very nice glow, but the color of light doesn't really match the LEDs that are pointing down. I've tried LED floods, but the quantity of light and spread is just not there, at least with the ones I've tried.

Lots of options out there....
