Hi folks, just joined today. Looking for help in ID of a VERY cool snap-on 1/4" socket set, am going to now try to post pics. I think the tools are 1940's era. The box is of the most bizarre mirror like chrome (?), and was very hard to take pics of. Anybody know or want to guess ? I sincerely appreciate your help.

I believe this is a late 40s Christmas promo set. The ratchet does appear to have a 1948 date code as well.

Beautiful set...

Thanks CRTDI. Do you think this is a cheap novelty or does it have a level of collector value ?

Really don't know how common they were. And not sure if this set is complete or not. But nice old Snap-On sets as always sought after.

Found more info on "collecting snap-on.com" now believe 1950's vintage based on number stamps.
